Have you caught Dream of the Dead yet? It's a special IFC is running this month. Basically documents Savini's cameo in Land of the Dead. Check it out if you can catch up...it's pretty cool!

How can you tell its him? His hair is shorter than normal and facially, I cant see the resemblance (due to the massive amount of makeup/prosthetics)

The make up seems to be an homage to Bub from Day of the dead.

i can see its him : the hair style. thing is, you dont want it to be too obvious...

It came to me from someone who said that was Simon and I'm confident enough that it is that I've put it up that way for now ... I have asked someone who would know beyond any doubt to confirm it for me as well. Not sure if he'll be allowed to say anything either way, though ...

Okay, I've got absolute, positive 100% confirmation. That is definitely Simon. Additionally, all us Shaun of the Dead fans are complete bloody idiots. Go take a look at the highest res version of the poster you can find. Got it? Good. Big black zombie front and center, yes? Look to the right. The next largest zombie right there behind the front and center guy? Also Simon. Look to the left. The other zombie there in the seond row? That's Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead. I can't believe I didn't notice that before ...

And word on the street is that George wanted to put Simon in white shirt and red tie but the Shaun boys thought that might be one in-joke too much. Go too far that way and you start distracting from the story on screen ...

Above edgar wright, just to the left appears to be Mr. Savini himself.

Aww...I'm gonna miss the cricket bat and red tie. I love Simon to death and I'm so happy he's a cameo in this movie!! But I still find it hard to ID him as that zombie. *sigh* Guess I'm gonna have to see the movie...

When I first saw the picture, all I could think of was Bub from Day of the Dead. It's amazing how striking the resemblence is!

when you watch the movie, the zombie right next to simon in this scene is edgar wright, director of shaun of the dead.

I can't wait for this movie and that picture has made me even more excited!! I love Simon and Edgar and I'm so happy they are in this movie as they obviously love George.A.Romano.

Its a bit ironic, the guy who eliminates zombies becomes one. Lol'd.
