Comes a week or so before the USA release (August 31st), and the UK Disc (the first with English Subtitles to be announced) is still set for an early October 2005 release.
Then there's the whole Luc Besson "rescore the music to make it better" issue over the versions shown outside Thailand. Here's an option then, a 2-Disc set with both the Besson version and the original Uncut Thai version, anamorphic PAL disc. CD-Wow (listing here) have it for £1 cheaper than I can get either USA or UK discs for, and then I could use a coupon and get another £1 off. Hmmm. Might buy this one then.
Extras : 'Born For the Fight' Thai boxing Documentary, Making of ONG BAK / Behind the Scenes, Tony Jaa Interview / Director Interview, Hong Kong & French film premieres, French music video, Storyboard comparison, Rehersals, Muay Thai 9 moves demonstration, 3D Animatic comparison, Audition videos, Tony Jaa fight demonstration, International Trailers - France, Thai etc.., Deleted Scenes, Alternative ending, Hidden messages, Sketch Gallery, Poster Gallery, Stills Gallery, ONG BAK screensaver.
Very cool indeed. Seems very cheap so this looks like a no brainer.
it does now, though the whole issue has had me confused until now...
why not release the 2 disc uncut version in all regions?
thats bessons companies decision - their rights to the movie let them do what they want. if the Q is about it being a R4 and you cant play anything but one particular region, well : you need a multiregion player.
the specs for the UK arent announced yet, but most seem to be assuming it will be the same as the UK cinema - the recut / rescored version from besson.
Play.com are advertising ong bak R2 for a October 3rd release, no details on spec as yet though, the R4 sounds the business though!
i know, i know. that UK was announced months back... the thing is, it was the first announced with subs, then the USA was announced in the last week or so, now this better and cheaper australian is there...
