Ryoo Seung-wan's Crying Fist wins at Cannes

In light of the DVD release news that logboy graced us with we should also point out that Ryoo Seung-wan's film, Crying Fist, was the only Korean film to grab a prize, the International Critics Award for non-official selections, at Cannes this year. The winner of this award is selected by film critics and journalists from the International Federation of Film Critics Award (Fipresci) who act as jurors at various international film festivals.

It was a year where there was high hopes for the record six Korean films appearing at the festival and while most of the films didn't live up to expectations there is some good news coming out of the festival.
