Coin Locker Babies Moving Ahead ...

Screen Daily is reporting that Japan's Comstock Pictures has come on board the film version of Ryu Murakami's Coin Locker Babies which will be directed by music video director Micahel Civetta from an adaptation by Sean Lennon. Comstock will be providing better than fifty percent of the production budget.

Early reports said the cast would involve Asia Argento, Val Kilmer and Tadanobu Asano. I haven't seen Asano's name linked to this recently - though I'll bet that's more a factor of the western press not knowing who he is, no way a Japanese company ponies up that much cash without a major Japanese star - but recent reports are also including Liv Tyler.
