Production stills from Jun'ya Satô's YAMATO (OTOKO-TACHI NO YAMATO)

yamato_poster.jpgHaruki Kadokawa Office (Kadokawa Haruki Jimusho) has posted 28 production stills from Jun'ya Satô's Yamato (Otoko-tachi no Yamato) on its website here. Raku Film (Rakueisha) has also posted a few stills on its website - three here (scroll 3/4 way down the page), and two there (again, scroll 3/4 way down the page). There are also several stills accompanying the official blog for the film. Finally, there's a short 'making of' doc here, although principal photography for the film only began on March 26 - which is why there's no footage from the film in the promo trailer. Incidentally, the budget for the film reportedly is ¥1.5 billion (approx. $14 million U.S.) - the same as the official production cost of Masaaki Tezuka's upcoming Civil War Self-Defense Forces 1549 (Sengoku jieitai 1549).

Below are links to 2 stills that don't appear on the Haruki Kadokawa Office (Kadokawa Haruki Jimusho) webpage linked to above, but are part of the same set as the 28 that do. Note that there's no 0406_26.JPG or 0406_26.jpg; consequently, the 30th still is 0406_31.jpg.

For a split second there i thought that i was looking at news on a live action version of Space Battle Cruiser Yamato! I really got to pay more attention to things. I have to say though i do like the look of this.

None of those image links work. Also the official page does not have any wallpapers. To be honest it's ugly. Ridiculous amount of flash use.
Haven't seen such a bad site since www.u2.com
